Club Chair Upholstery
Upholstery of this club chair brought it back to life for another generation to enjoy. We restored and recovered this extremely well-loved Edwardian club chair, which belonged to our client’s grandmother.
You can see Sarah working on it – carrying out the painstaking task of stripping it back. As with a lot of good furniture – the original upholstery did not need replacing but it did need sorting out! The springs were tightened up, the chair was re-webbed, all the rolled edges were restored and we added some more fibre to give it some more oomph…..calico cover, skin wadding, a new custom made foam and feather wrap for the cushion and finally a top cover of Ian Mankin’s absolute classic, Skye Check in oatmeal.
Checks are not for the faint-hearted upholster! I think we did pretty good job getting them lined up….. look how we have covered the cushion pad first and then lined up the fixed cover on the inside arms and back.
